Enviro-Set, is an inorganic geobinder when mixed with water and Enviro-Gro®, a cellulose fiber mulch, forms a cementious binder over whatever it is applied. Enviro-Set and Enviro-Gro® has been successfully used on several landfills in Texas as an alternate daily cover since January of 1995. During this period, the TNRCC has been monitoring the applications and recently the permit division of the TNRCC from Austin, gave approval to the material as an approved alternate daily cover. Sprayed as a slurry quickly sets up to create a complete cover that meets regulatory requirements. Enviro-Set and Enviro-Gro® are applied with any conventional hydroseeding machine which is usually pulled with a tractor, motor grader or pickup truck. An advantage, particularly for city or county owned landfills, the hydroseeding machine can easily be used by the other departments within the city or county in areas such as hydraulically applied mulching, seeding, fertilizing, applying a liquid lime, etc.
Enviro-Set, is an erosion control product. The Texas Department of Transportation, as well as several cities and counties, specify Enviro-Set to bind the soil for different seeding applications. Landfills have found that the Enviro-Set not only works extremely well as an alternate daily cover, but could solve many seeding and erosion problems as well.
Enviro-Set and Enviro-Gro® are nontoxic, noncombustible, totally biodegradable, and harmless to fish, birds, plants, and animals. In regard to birds and other animals, the studies indicate they stay away from freshly applied plaster due to the fact that until it sets up it is very sticky.
